Invention of the Saeco brew group.
It can be removed and washed under running water without using detergents. Since then more than 8 million of these revolutionary pieces have been manufactured. Thanks to it the first automatic espresso coffee machine was introduced to the market. Finally we were able to get the pleasure of coffee by simply pressing a button.

1981
Sergio Zappella and Arthur Schmed founded the company Saeco S.r.l. in Gaggio Montano, a small town in the province of Bologna, and they started manufacturing espresso coffee machines for domestic use. Many international patents have written the history of coffee up until today. In the meantime, more than 70 specialised engineers and technicians have worked on perfecting the pleasure of coffee.
